The Future Talent Program features co-op positions that last up to 6 months and will include one or more projects. These opportunities in our Manufacturing Division can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals.
This co-op assignment starting in ~May/Jun2025 will support our Manufacturing Division's Analytical Chemistry in Development and Supply - Analytical Commercialization Technology (ACDS-ACT) organization. ACDS-ACT applies innovative analytical characterization technologies to drive late-stage pharmaceutical drug product development and commercialization. We support all aspects of analytical development and regulatory filings for novel small molecule and new modality drug products and collaborate effectively with cross-functional partner groups and customers. The co-op will have an opportunity to work alongside experienced chemists and instrument technicians to design and execute experiments to help solve key challenges in development, commercialization, and supply areas. The co-op will study chemical reactions in both solutions and solid states and try to understand the formation mechanism of trace level toxic impurities such as potential genotoxic impurities and nitrosamines. The knowledge gained from these studies will be used to inform formulation design, packaging, and storage to effectively control these undesired impurities. To support these studies, you will develop sensitive analytical methods using modern technologies such as HPLC-MS, GC-MS, GC-NPD, GC-FID, GC-VUV, NMR etc.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Design and execute experiment to understand the mechanism of the formation of toxic impurities.
Develop analytical methods to characterize the reaction products.
Perform literature search to understand project background.
Identifies and resolves technical problems.
Follow lab safety procedures.
Follow good documentation practices to record experiment and results.
Employ statistical tools and methods to analyze results.
Communicate effectively with the team such as presenting study results and conclusions at team meetings.
Author technical reports and literature publications

Required Education and Experience:
Candidates must be currently working toward M.S. or Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, or related field.
Candidates must have superior technical competency as demonstrated by excellent academic record and work achievement.
Candidates must have strong communication skills, personal character, and ethics.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Experience in trace impurity analysis using HPLC, GC and hyphenated techniques such as mass spectrometry.
Experience in handling toxic compounds such as nitrosamines
Experience in analytical method development.
Ability to work independently or in team environment.
Strong communication skills, both verbally and written.
Under New York City, Colorado State, Washington State, and California State law, the Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate's relevant skills, experience, and education.
Expected salary range:
$39,600.00-$105,500.00
