CLINICAL ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR OF EXECUTIVE COACHING AND ORGANIZATIONAL CONSULTING

The NYU School of Professional Studies invites applications for a Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor in the graduate Executive Coaching and Organizational Consulting degree (MSECOC) within the Human Capital Management Department, Division of the Programs in Business. The anticipated start date is August 1, 2025; the rank of the position will be determined based on the candidates experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to shape and grow a well-established PCC-level, ICF accredited graduate program at the intersection of executive coaching and organizational consulting. The programs applied orientation makes practical industry experience in senior HR, learning and development, or coaching roles particularly valuable. Additionally, candidates should have experience working with diverse professionals and teaching a diverse student population.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach and develop graduate-level courses within the MSECOC program.
  • Mentor and advise students to support their academic and professional growth.
  • Advance thought leadership through applied research relevant to industry needs.
  • Build and maintain industry relationships to enhance the programs market relevance and visibility.
  • Support the growth and professional development of adjunct faculty.
  • Collaborate with faculty, industry partners, and the broader NYU SPS academic community.
  • Contribute to the Divisions mission by supporting its applied professional goals and fostering external partnerships.

The standard teaching load is three 3-credit courses in both the Fall and Spring semesters or the equivalent.

Reporting to the Associate Dean of the Division of Programs in Business, the Clinical Faculty will work closely with the Human Capital Management Department Chair and the Academic Director to implement a strategic vision for enhancing the MSECOC programs industry standing and market visibility locally, nationally, and internationally. This includes collaborating with industry professionals and academics to advance the programs applied professional mission.

Position Details:

  • This is a full-time, nine-month faculty appointment with a two-year renewable contract.
  • Faculty are expected to contribute to the Divisions ongoing investments in research, pedagogy, and corporate collaboration.
  • Due to the applied and teaching focused nature of the program and position, the candidate will be expected to teach both in-person and online, and also maintain a significant physical presence on campus.

Compensation:

In compliance with NYCs Pay Transparency Act, this positions annual base salary range is $85,000 - $135,000. NYU considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidates experience, education, key skills, internal equity, and market conditions when extending an offer.


About the MSECOC Program

The Master of Science in Executive Coaching and Organizational Consulting (MSECOC) is designed to address the growing demand for highly skilled and academically trained executive coaches and organizational consultants. Students will be prepared to enhance individual and organizational effectiveness through coaching leaders on goal-setting, presence, performance, and effective communication as well as consulting with leaders on organizational culture, systems and design. Leading academics and industry practitioners will bridge evidence-based science and applied practice to empower students to become more influential and strategic leadership development coaches and organizational consultants.

This 30-credit accelerated MS program can be completed online, onsite or in a hybrid format. It is also accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) at the PCC-level, the gold standard in education for the coaching profession.

The Division of Programs in Business

The NYU Division of Programs in Business provides applied, professional education for students interested in becoming leaders in the functional areas of a business: marketing, human resources, management and technology, and finance. Students from around the world are immersed in highly relevant curricular and co-curricular experiences that combine academic theory and the rich professional expertise of industry practitioners with global experience rooted in New York Citys business community. This creates a dynamic teaching and learning environment in which students gain and apply practical skills to solve complex, real-world problems of business and society. The Division of Programs in Business offers both credit and continuing education programs. In the most recent academic year, more than 2,200 graduate students were in seven Masters programs, and approximately 1,000 noncredit enrollments in various career advancement and continuing education programs.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold a terminal degree (Ph.D., DBA or an equivalent), possess significant industry experience, and demonstrate a proven ability to deliver engaging, impactful coursework and program materials. Given the MSECOC programs ICF accreditation, candidates must have a minimum of PCC-level ICF certification.
