40Summary:
The Clinical Dietitian II (CD II) is a registered dietitian/nutritionist who is competent in general and specialized pediatric nutrition and either holds an advanced degree or a practice-related board certification. The CD II uses evidenced-based knowledge to formulate a nutrition care plan and is competent in current medical nutrition therapy for pediatrics. The CDII participates in nutrition care decisions that lead to positive outcomes and is an effective educator. The CD II demonstrates concentrated knowledge/experience in one or more pediatric nutrition sub-specialties. The CD II shows initiative in solving routine problems in the work environment and can self-manage daily duties and assignments. The CD II prioritizes workload, delivers nutrition care to assigned patients, and discusses/assist/advocates for nutrition care needs for the patient/family. This position receives oversight by the Clinical Nutrition Manager. The CD II is required: To manage daily workload, identify/solve problems in the work area, and meet patient satisfaction goals. The CD II works/collaborates as part of an interdisciplinary team, within Cook Children's Health Care System (CCHCS), and provides professional guidance to in/outpatients, staff, outside agencies, students, and the community while maintaining patient confidentiality and honoring patient rights.
Qualifications:
Master's degree required OR Bachelor's degree if applicant has ONE Board Recognized Specialty certification obtained in practice-applicable specialty area (Ex: CSP, CNSC, CDE, CSO, CSRN, AP-RD, CSPCC, CLC).
3 or more years of experience as an RD required, with at least one year being in Pediatrics.
Certification/Licensure:
Must be registered with the Commission of Dietetic Registration and licensed by the State of Texas.
Heart Saver CPR certification required.
BLS CPR preferred.
