Job Overview
The Driver Manager is responsible for the retention, coordination, direction, and supervision of all driver personnel; managing and supporting all drivers including Independent Contractors (Owner, Operators). Another responsibility is to support successful field operations through effective resource management. The Driver Manager manages the safe and efficient flow of all resources (Company and, or Contractor) to ensure order delivery functions are completed per approved plans; executes successful operations to ensure timely delivery, pick-up of freight, and other materials. This position also supervises the movement, loading, and unloading of freight and other materials; operates various support systems and equipment to document logistics and selling activity (examples: TMW, People Net, SAP, PC Miller.)
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensures safety is a key priority among all functions by participating in all driver safety meetings within a designated region
- Fosters a safe culture environment to drive total compliance with all regulations as it relates to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration
- Manages the delivery of Key Performance Indicators ensuring optimum driver and unit performance, including but not limited to; On-Time Delivery Percentage, Driver Turnover, Revenue per Mile, Driver, Tractor, Trailer Utilization, Empty Miles, Miles per Truck per Week, Driver Scorecard and Driver Manager Scorecard
- Provides leadership to company and contract drivers by communicating business plans to the team and ensuring alignment; building and maintaining relationships with the team; ensuring open communication and dialogue; providing support and tools necessary to aid in the execution of all freight movements
- Leads cross-functional collaboration with Planning and Fleet operations by communicating plans to teams to ensure all company initiatives are met and ensuring frequent interactions to understand business processes and sharing of best practices
- Manages, leads, and motivates a team to deliver results by communicating company goals, safety practices, and deadlines; engaging and developing teammates through effective performance management, coaching, and training
- Implements continuous improvement methods while maintaining customer focus, and embodying company purpose and values to inspire servant leadership

- Experience with Excel and knowledge of Transportation Management Systems (TMW Preferred)
Minimum Qualifications
- 2 years of education beyond high school in college or technical school
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge acquired through 1 to up to 3 years of work experience
