The Student Enrollment and Engagement (SEE) office is seeking an innovative, resourceful, and highly organized Events Manager, Student Engagement. Overseeing the full lifecycle of student-centric programming, you will plan, manage, and execute high-visibility campus experiences, including Orientation, Career Jam, and Career Fairs. This role bridges strategic event design with day-to-day logistical precision, aligning every event with Berklee's values and brand to optimize the student journey. Key Responsibilities
Full-Service Event Planning & Execution:
- Project Management: Deliver day-to-day coordination for multiple concurrent events, large-scale conferences, and meetings for varied internal clients simultaneously.
- Signature Programming: Own the implementation of major campus moments like Career Jam, Orientation, and career fairs, while contributing to institutional flagship events like Commencement.
- Systems & Timelines: Effectively utilize professional services automation systems and project management software to establish, track, and maintain event roadmaps and deliverables.
- Site & Venue Selection: Conduct thorough site inspections, evaluate venue capabilities, and make strategic recommendations to leadership regarding space allocation on our urban campus.
Operations, Budgets & Vendor Relations:
- Fiscal Control: Develop, manage, and reconcile individual event budgets to balance high-quality student experiences with institutional cost efficiency.
- Vendor Management: Maintain and build strategic vendor relationships, overseeing the bidding process, complex contract negotiations, and final service delivery parameters.
- Logistical Operations: Oversee meeting preparation, supply ordering, and the packing or shipping of critical event materials.
- High-Touch Support: Deliver exceptional client service, working directly with student registrants, external guests, and internal departments to resolve real-time inquiries.
What You'll Bring
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience in meeting/event coordination or hospitality management, ideally within a Higher Education setting.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills across Google Workspace, Zoom, CRM/AMS systems, and specialized event reservation software (EMS). Experience with CMS platforms, email marketing, and basic HTML is highly preferred.
- Core Attributes: Exemplary track record of event success, strong time management habits, and a collaborative team mindset. You excel at navigating competing operational priorities on a space-constrained campus.
- Physical & Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work occasional nights and weekends to support the active student events calendar, with the physical capacity to lift up to 40 lbs.
