Communications Director/Executive Editor
Position Overview
The Communications Director/Executive Editor will lead the development and execution of comprehensive communication strategies that enhance the organization's brand, engage stakeholders, and ensure the delivery of high-quality content across various platforms. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional writing and editing skills, capable of managing a team and collaborating effectively with other departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement communication strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Oversee the creation of content for press releases, publications, and digital platforms.
- Manage and mentor the communications team to foster growth and development.
- Ensure all content is accurate, consistent, and adheres to the highest editorial standards through copy editing and proof-reading.
- Collaborate with other departments to promote corporate communications initiatives and campaigns.
- Monitor media coverage and public sentiment, providing insights to senior management.
- Develop and maintain relationships with media contacts and stakeholders.
- Lead social media strategy, enhancing the organizations presence and engagement online.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in communications or editorial roles.
- Proven experience in copy editing and proof-reading.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Demonstrated expertise in corporate communications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects effectively.
- Experience in law enforcement or police communications is a plus.
- Familiarity with social media strategy and analytics is desirable.
