WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
- Support the import/export department with customs and transportation matters
- Perform basic order control duties including processing, printing, sorting and tracking customer orders
- Prepare international export shipping documents including commercial invoices, trade compliance forms, free trade, and certificates of origin ensuring accuracy, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures; distribute to appropriate internal customers and pull samples of those documents when requested during compliance audits
- Troubleshoot any transactional issues that may arise
- Communicate with internal and external customers
- Knowledge of the shipping process, which includes cross-training to cover critical roles within the Traffic area
- Verify commercial invoicing coincides with incoterms
- Retain detailed and accurate documentation for domestic and international shipping
- Follow up with freight forwarders to obtain proof of export to meet document retention requirements
- Import/export declaration filing (APAC/EMEA only)
- Organize transportation; contact with carriers/brokers
- Resolve transport complaints
YOU HAVE:
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate degree preferred
- 1-2 years of experience preferred in shipping, import/export
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Must be tactful, considerate and courteous to all internal and external customers
- Ability to achieve and deliver a high level of customer satisfaction
- Excellent PC skills (Word, Excel, creating workbooks, etc.).
