This person will assist the Head of Operations with day-to-day operation of the fixed income and derivative operations. They will collaborate with associates and the management team to set direction and strategy of the operations department. The ideal candidate will embrace a culture of learning, which includes coaching, developing, and leading associates toward delivery of an exceptional client experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the fixed income operations team, ensuring high performance and adherence to operational standards.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
- Collaborate with front office, middle office, IT, and compliance teams to streamline processes and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Monitor key performance indicators and operational metrics to determine areas for improvement and implement solutions.
- Manage relationships with external custodians, counterparties, and regulatory bodies.
- Provide training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Lead and support projects aimed at process automation and system enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field is preferred; advanced degree preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in fixed income operations within a financial services company.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Extensive knowledge of Operations, Including systems and products.
- Excellent oral, written communication skills and people skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Exceptional PC skills including proficiency financial software and systems such as Bloomberg, FIS, DTCC, Broadridge, and (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access)
- Excellent organizational and customer service skills
- Prefer at least 10 years of operations experience including management experience.
- FINRA Series 99, or the ability to obtain within 120 days (as required by FINRA), plus additional licensing as required.
- Preferred FINRA Series 7, 53 and 24 licenses
