The Geotechnical Engineer provides expertise to all Company operations in the use of geophysical methods in both environmental and mining activities and is accountable for the safe and effective acquisition, processing and interpretation of geophysical survey results, project planning, support, and training of individuals responsible for the management of site-specific geophysical activities.
What will you do?
- Promote, manage, direct, and participate in geophysical surveys using both traditional and innovative techniques to maximize economic return.
- Collect, interpret, and maintain an exchange of information, ideas, and recommendations to all Company operation
- Organize, select, and administer resources to ensure mine personnel are familiar with the utilization of equipment and software for data acquisition, processing, and interpretation.
- Determine most effective utilization of resources to achieve unit objectives and long-range goals.
- Provide geotechnical assistance as required to all Company operations.
What do you need for this role?
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, required, major in Geological Engineering, Geophysical Engineering and Civil Engineering, preferred.
- Minimum of two years of related technical and field experience in geophysical engineering and / or geological sciences. This position requires a sound understanding of environmental and mining activities and of the interaction between the geology, geochemistry, rock engineering and geophysics of sites surveyed.
- Project and resource management experience is essential for facilitating the development of project economics and confirm the financial impact of projects.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, train and motivate a wide range of employees, and manage and stimulate organizational change.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Maintain a cooperative, productive work relationship with management, coworkers, and customers.
- Ability to make recommendations and decisions related to the assignment and deployment of resources to geophysical projects.
- Ability to implement problem-solving techniques in a wide range of environmental and mining areas.
- Advanced understanding of personal computers and productivity / application software.
Preferred for ALL Levels:
- Professional Engineering (PE) License preferred
