The Head of Platform Services will define and lead the strategic vision, design, development, and management of scalable and efficient platform solutions across various domains, including Middleware & Messaging, Observability & Monitoring, Automation Platforms, Robotic Process Automation, and ServiceNow Platform Development. This role involves strategic planning, product design, platform management, and ensuring compliance with security policies and standards. The Head of Platform Services will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate platform solutions, enhance system visibility, and support business objectives. Additionally, this role will drive change management initiatives, promote a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure regulatory compliance in a complex enterprise environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership
1. Vision and Strategy: Develop and communicate a clear vision for platform services, aligning with the organization's overall business goals and technology roadmap.
2. Innovation and Improvement: Drive continuous innovation and improvement in platform services, ensuring the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and best practices.
3. Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, technology teams, and external partners, to ensure alignment and collaboration.
4. Change Management: Lead change management initiatives to embed new practices and technologies within the organization, promoting a culture of agility and adaptability.
5. Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of platform services, making data-driven decisions to optimize performance.

Middleware & Messaging
6. Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for scalable Middleware & Messaging platforms aligned to business and technology objectives.
7. Product Design and Development: Lead the design and development of innovative Middleware & Messaging solutions that are aligned to business requirements, and provide reliability, performance and are secure by design.
8. Platform Management: Integration and implementation of messaging systems, middleware platforms and API’s to support seamless application interoperability.
9. Stakeholder Collaboration: Monitoring and optimization of platform performance, continuously improving reliability, scalability and security.
10. Compliance and Security: Ensure platforms adhere to security policies, compliance standards and best practices.
Observability & Monitoring
11. Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for observability and monitoring to align with business goals and technology roadmaps.
12. Lead the design and development of innovative monitoring solutions that enhance system visibility, reliability, and performance.
13. Oversee the management and optimization of monitoring platforms, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and efficient.
14. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate monitoring solutions into existing systems and support business objectives.
15. Ensure that monitoring solutions adhere to security policies, compliance standards, and best practices.
Automation Platforms & Robotic Process Automation
16. Process Analysis and Design: Analyze business processes to identify automation opportunities and design efficient RPA solutions.
17. Development and Implementation: Develop, test, and implement RPA bots to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
18. Integration: Integrate RPA solutions with existing systems and applications to ensure seamless workflow and data exchange.
19. Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor the performance of RPA bots, troubleshoot issues, and perform regular maintenance to ensure optimal functionality.
20. Compliance and Security: Ensure that RPA solutions adhere to security policies, compliance standards, and best practices.
ServiceNow Platform Development
21. Design and Implement: Develop and maintain scalable and efficient ServiceNow platform solutions to meet business requirements.
22. Integration: Integrate ServiceNow with other enterprise systems and ensure seamless data flow and interoperability.
23. Customization: Customize ServiceNow applications and modules to enhance functionality and user experience.
24. Compliance and Security: Ensure that the platform adheres to security policies, compliance standards, and best practices.
25. Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize platform performance, continuously improving reliability, scalability, and security.
Testing Automation and Quality Assurance
26. Build frameworks and tools for end-to-end testing automation.
27. Collaborate with application teams to integrate testing solutions, such as unit, integration, performance, and security testing.
28. Promote a culture of continuous testing and quality throughout the development lifecycle.
Strategic Partnerships with DCIO Line of Business Technology Teams
29. Partner closely with Business aligned DCIOs and their respective technology teams to align the platforms with business objectives.
30. Facilitate collaboration between platform teams and line-of-business technology teams to ensure seamless adoption and optimal outcomes.
31. Drive alignment across various groups to maintain a cohesive and scalable enterprise platform strategy.
Change Management and Shift-Left Culture Adoption
32. Lead change management initiatives to embed shift-left principles within development and testing practices.
33. Promote education, training, and advocacy to instill DevSecOps and compliance awareness across development teams.
34. Build a data-driven approach to measure adoption and effectiveness of shift-left initiatives.
Developer Experience
35. Drive initiatives to enhance the developer experience, including improved toolchain integration, ease of use, and developer productivity.
36. Advocate for developer feedback to continuously evolve platform capabilities.
37. Foster a culture of engineering excellence by enabling intuitive and streamlined workflows.

Compliance and Governance in a Regulated Environment
38. Define and enforce policies, controls, and standards that meet regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., SOX, FFIEC, etc).
39. Develop tools and practices for continuous compliance validation workflows and pipelines.
40. Collaborate with risk, audit, and compliance teams to ensure technology and processes align with regulatory requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
2. 15+ years of experience in IT leadership roles, with a focus on middleware, messaging, automation and workflow technologies
3. Proven experience and deep technical expertise are required in technical products, services and domains
4. Expert knowledge of ITIL practices and service delivery models
5. Proven experience driving technology adoption and change management in large organizations
6. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
