Duties/Responsibilities:
* Support the EHS manager in enhancing and implementing safety practices and procedures. Ensure consistent policy communication across all sites.
* Advise on the incident reports completed by the logistics and operations teams. Recommend corrective actions for accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
* Conduct regular site assessments to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company policies, addressing any discrepancies and recommend corrective measures.
* Organize and support safety committee meetings. Guide discussions with the operations & logistics team to ensure actionable outcomes.
* Maintain safety documentation, including updating SDS manuals and the OSHA 300 log for all sites.
* Stay current with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and related governmental codes and regulations.
* Support HR Manager with all other safety-related tasks as needed.
* Take care of our most important asset, our employees; be the key point of contact for workers, clinics and adjusters for all questions related to workers compensation claims and injuries.
* Assist safety team in injury reports, accident investigations, OSHA investigations etc.
* Maintain accurate claim information
* Compile reports as needed
* Communicate with providers, and vendors regarding claims issues and status.
* Assist in injury reporting, accident investigations, OSHA investigations etc.
* Will coordinate FMLA, leaves and Worker's comp. leave.
* Run weekly/monthly reports and support other HR functions as needed.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
* Knowledge of security protocols and emergency preparedness.
* Knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
* Ability to conduct training.
Education and Experience:
* High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree preferred.
* At least 4 years' safety experience required.
* Workers Compensation and FMLA Experience.
Physical Requirements:
* Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
* Must be able to lift to 25 pounds at times.
* Ability to travel throughout facility as required to conduct safety inspections.
