Overview
A HFF Casting Operator Level II is responsible for all details pertaining to the production of extruded hollow fiber membranes for use in bio-separation filters. The casting operator will also inspect the hollow fiber membrane dimensionally and functionally, maintain the casting equipment, and provide feedback to support staff. The operator also works as a team member in whatever capacity and job function is required to deliver a quality product to our customers in a timely fashion.
Responsibilities
· Establish production priorities with Mfg. Specialist to achieve schedule adherence.
· Breakdown/setup casting machine and assemble/maintain casting tooling.
· Perform daily entries into the computer database.
· Accurately record real-time data and maintain production records and log.
· Accurately labels all production fibers and sample fibers.
· Ensure that machinery and equipment on assigned production lines perform at capacity and within the established line metrics.
· Participates in all line changeovers.
· Perform daily cleaning and maintenance on machines and, when necessary, dispose of solutions, according to HAZMAT.
· Operator troubleshoots and corrects processing problems.
· Maintain consumable stock (i.e., bags, labels, tapes, and other casting-specific items)
· Verify the accuracy of work daily to prevent errors.
· Advise the direct Supervisor of any problems.
· Comply with applicable FDA and international regulatory laws/standards and the Repligen Code of Conduct.
Qualifications
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- 2-3 years of fiber extrusion-related experience.
- Knowledge of 5S techniques and Lean Manufacturing Skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, feel, and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Exerting up to 60 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
· Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and reaching.

The estimated base salary range for this role, based in the United States of America is $21.50-$24.74. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to an individual's qualifications, location, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
