Full Job Description
Develops the overall direction and utilization of human resources and related functional areas for the department. Establishes strategic plans and objectives for staffing, workforce administration, compensation, labor relations, compliance with state and federal employment programs and regulations, and all other personnel and human resource related issues.
- Manage recruitment and retention efforts. Ensure the timely, efficient, and cost-effective selection of talent.
- Maintains responsibility for compliance with federal, state, and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
- Promote and enhance a diverse workforce.
- Maintains employee benefits program.
- Develop, implement and interpret HR policies and guidelines and recommend/develop new policies when necessary.
- Manage employee relations with objectivity and professionalism, including coaching and counseling managers in dealing with sensitive issues.
- Be an employee advocate to assure fairness and equity in all transactions.
- Develop and execute the departmental budget.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable labor and employment laws. Stay current on legislative and compliance trends and changes.
- Management and execution of the company compensation model and being a steward of resources.
- Maintain Human Resource certification.
- Management of the evaluation and review process - 121's.
- Manages company employee and community communications, including wellness activities, newsletters, events, etc.
- Responsible for overall strategy to create a diverse and inclusive workplace.
- Lead role in career development and lifelong learning.
- Staying up-to-date on current policies, practices, laws, rules and regulations and by participating in professional organizations, conferences, seminars and other educational opportunities, reading professional publications and maintaining personal networks.
- Leads by example maintaining alignment with the company mission and values.
- Perform any other duties as directed by the COO.
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or related field and Human Resource certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) are required.
Experience
- A minimum of five years of HR leadership with progressively responsible roles.

- Excellent business writing and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all staff working across organizational levels, as well as demonstrated facilitation, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Must have ability to function as a team player who can interact with others at all levels to accomplish goals in an efficient, productive and collaborative manner.
- Demonstrates understanding of Human Resource processes, policies, software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of employment law. Stays current with Human Resource related best practices, policies, programs and benefits.
- High initiative and self-motivated with a proven ability to identify and address challenges and complete projects in a timely manner.
- Ability to manage both detail and the "big picture."
- Level headed and in control of emotions in all situations.
- Ability to work independently and possess excellent organizational skills.
- Proven leadership capability, ability to develop strategic partnerships and provide growth in the organization.
- Must have critical thinking and business decision making abilities, as well as strong problem solving capabilities.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities under tight deadlines.
- Ability to speak, read and understand the English language.
