As a member of the IT Management Team, you are responsible for managing, developing, and leading a team of employees. Your role includes leading the specific functional responsibilities of your team, which involves overseeing team performance and deliverables. However, your role as a leader within our organization requires more than the management of resources and day-to-day operations. As a steward of the company, you are charged with the development and execution of your team’s strategic vision and plan and ensuring that your team’s actions align with the larger goals of the company and the IT Division.

The Collaborative Platforms team is responsible for the design, administration, and operations of enterprise-wide platforms used for core productivity applications. These platforms include important applications to our business areas such as email, file storage, word processing, spreadsheets, and video conference tooling. The successful candidate will ensure smooth operations and optimal utilization of resources by applying technical expertise and previous experience managing similar platforms. He or she will play a key role in maximizing productivity and collaboration by introducing, socializing, and migrating the enterprise toward Global productivity platform solutions.

ROLE

MEMBER SERVICE: Provides and ensures staff provides an exceptional member experience.

ADMINISTRATION: Ensures proper department coverage (writing schedule and break aids if needed). Understands department budget, able to research and explain budget variances.

MANAGING PERFORMANCE: Coaches and mentors’ employees to provide support and guidance. Has regular open and honest conversations with employees to discuss work performance and career development. Identifies learning opportunities to strengthen employee knowledge, skill, and ability.

COMMUNICATION: Regularly shares information with employees via meetings and one-on-one conversations. Successfully navigates difficult conversations with employees, members, and suppliers. Listens, expresses empathy, and adapts to get points across. Addresses issues immediately to ensure a timely resolution and to avoid escalating the situation. Consistently demonstrates business knowledge during interactions with senior management.

SELF-MANAGEMENT: Demonstrates sound judgment, taking a partner when necessary. Ability to maintain self-control in the face of hostility or provocation or in intense, hectic situations.

INCLUSION: Encourages different approaches and ideas to work and to accomplish goals. Seeks employee input. Takes the time to get to know or reach out to candidates who show potential that may not come forward on their own.

COMPLIANCE AND SAFETY: Takes measures to ensure employee and member information is kept confidential and adheres to IS security policy.

● Provides leadership and guidance for the implementation of collaborative platforms with a specific focus on Google Workspace administration.

● Drives operational processes for configuration and management of platforms including, but not limited to, Google Workspace, Confluence, Slack, and other cloud-based productivity tooling.

● Defines and leads the vision and strategy for Globalized Collaborative Platforms at Costco.

● Partners with the business, CDS partners, and vendors to establish and execute associated strategies, roadmaps, and requirements; initiates projects and enhancements to meet enterprise needs.

● Leads the platform team which includes Administrators, Functional Analysts, and supporting staff.

● Supports end-users through the management of user accounts, groups, and organizational units.

● Partners with InfoSec to ensure data integrity and confidentiality through implementation and maintenance of security policies, access controls, and data loss prevention measures.

● Provides timely and effective technical support to employees on Google Workspace issues, resolving problems, and answering questions.

● Develops and delivers training materials and onboarding programs to educate employees on Google Workspace features and best practices.

● Defines, builds, and measures metrics to monitor the performance and effectiveness of collaborative platforms utilization.

● Socializes enterprise-wide changes to prepare end-users for platform migration activities and new feature/functionality for already established end-users.

● Partners closely with other CDS team members and departments to ensure seamless integration of collaborative platforms with other systems and applications.

● Stays abreast with the latest trends, features, updates, and best practices association with collaborative platforms; especially as it relates to Google Workspace.

● Facilitates business improvement through adoption of modernized architecture.

● Maintains and fosters a sense of urgency within the team and the organization.

● Elevates and upskills team, as required, to support modernized systems and processes.

● This is a full-time management/leadership position (45+ hours per week).

REQUIRED

PROVEN EXPERIENCE: 2+ years of experience administering Google Workspace in a business environment.

TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Strong understanding of Google Workspace core services and administration tools.

SECURITY FOCUS: Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security measures within Google Workspace.

PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide effective solutions.

COMMUNICATION AND COLLABORATION: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of technical expertise.

STRATEGIC MINDSET: Demonstrated ability to develop strategies, design roadmaps, and transform business processes to function in a way that optimizes utilization of consistent collaborative platforms.

● Experience creating long and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and driving team deadlines and goals.

● HIPAA Training and Supervisors Orientation (within 30 days of hire); Leadership Development 101 (within one year); Costco Pay Policies (within 90 days of promotion).

● Ability to travel as needed.

MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE: 2+ years of experience team management and/or leading a successful enterprise initiative

METRICS DEVELOPMENT: Experience defining and reporting metrics and risks, facilitating the communication of findings to control owners and stakeholders, and coordinating effective remediation with primary focus in the compliance space.

CLOUD TECHNOLOGY EXPERIENCE: Good understanding of Azure and/or Google Cloud.

SAAS TECHNOLOGY EXPERIENCE: Good understanding of SaaS solutions.

● Ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently.

● Proven self-starter with the ability to work under limited supervision.

● Business acumen, data analysis, and ability to build business cases.

● High-level understanding of international compliance and regulatory landscape.

● Strong organizational and negotiation skills with attention to detail and quality.

Pay Range: $137,000 - $200,000, Bonus and Restricted Stock Unit (RSU) eligible
