40Summary:
The Neighborhood Health Center (NHC) APP Supervisor functions in both a clinical and administrative capacity, providing direct oversight of APP's within the NHC department while also providing direct patient care at least 50% of the time. Functions in a collaborative practice with physicians in a Neighborhood Health Center setting with a patient population of >90% government payor or underinsured population. They work alongside a multidisciplinary team to care for a high volume of socially and medically complex patients. The APP Supervisor collaborates with physicians, APPs and department leadership to support all employed NHC APPs through administrative functions such as hiring, training, ongoing professional development, and participation in strategic and clinical initiatives. While providing direct patient care, the APP supervisor works independently to provide patient care according to best practice and approved protocols.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses Master's Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and minimum of 5 years of provider experience in primary care.
Physician Assistants Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies and minimum of 5 years of provider experience in primary care.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses
Current Texas professional registered nurse license
Current Texas professional advance practice registered nurse license
Certification in area of specialty practice preferred (CPON)
Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required.
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) encouraged
Physician Assistants
Current Texas professional physician assistant license
Certified as a PA-C
Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) encouraged
