Your primary duties and responsibilities will be:
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations and promote a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with safety leadership to organize training programs on safety protocols.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the wood production team.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the wood composite decking manufacturing plant.
- Collaborate with planning group to execute production schedules to meet customer demands while optimizing resources.
- Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and safety standards are met.
- Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with planning group to manage inventory levels to meet production requirements and minimize waste.
- Lead and motivate plant personnel to achieve production targets and quality goals.
- Provide coaching and development opportunities to plant staff to enhance their skills and performance.
- Collaborate with other departments such as sales, procurement, and logistics to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
- Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Manage plant budget and expenses to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 15-20+ years professional experience with 7+ years of experience in manufacturing leadership.
- Demonstrated success in same or similar role, with a focus on managing personnel and processes. Siding, Composite, and/or plastics processing experience, preferred.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality control principles.
- Experience & background developing and driving lean culture and methodologies in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven leadership abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively manage a diverse team and foster a positive work environment.
- Solid problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with production planning, inventory management, and budgeting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and manufacturing software.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on optimizing processes and driving efficiencies.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several geographic markets. The annual salary for this position ranges from $130,000 in our lowest market up to $170,000 in our highest market, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable. The pay for roles at AZEK varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific work location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
