20Summary:
The Program Specialist II works in our Psychiatric unit and is the primary caretaker for psychiatric patients ages Pre-K - adolescents. The specialist assists patients with activities of daily living, maintaining a safe environment, and the management of harmful behaviors. This position also participates in crisis intervention, teaching, group process, and on-call as needed.
Education / Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required. Preferably in psychology, child development, social work or related field.
Experience working with at-risk youth preferred.
Education in Child growth and development courses required.
Prior experience working in inpatient or partial hospital psychiatric treatment preferred.
BLS certification, or must be completed within 60 days of start date.
CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention - Units 1-7 & 9-10 plus the CPI Children's Control Position from Unit 8 or must be completed within 60 days of start date.
Note: Prior Cook employees grandfathered in with at least 2 years of previous inpatient/partial hospital/residential child or adolescent services for each year of college.
