As Project Engineer you will play a crucial role in the successful planning, execution, and completion of some of the Northwest’s largest construction projects. As a key member of the project team, you will provide on-site support for project teams and in-house collaboration with our operations staff, offering you diverse experiences and the chance to forge strong relationships within the industry. You will collaborate with project managers, architects, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with Lydig’s high quality and industry leading safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Reviews submittals for completeness and compliance with contract documents
- Creates and maintains submittals log
- Completes submittal processes in a manner that supports the project’s schedule
- Reviews RFI’s from subs/suppliers to verify they are warranted to forward to designers
- Logs, submits, tracks and distributes RFI’s
- Takes accurate notes at meetings, and produces quality meeting minutes
- Inventories material deliveries
- Renews and understands executed subcontracts and Purchase Agreements with a focus on scope, schedule and submittals
- Understands schedule needs of project and communicates to subs and suppliers as it relates to submittals and materials procurement
- Assists in other areas where needed
Qualifications
Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management preferred or equivalent experience
- 0-7 years’ experience preferred, depending on education level
Safety
- Participates in jobsite safety meetings, stretch-and-flex, and other safety-related activities.
Skills / Abilities
- Must be able to establish and maintain rapport with owners, staff, subcontractors and suppliers
- Must have a basic understanding of the construction industry and the role of a General Contractor
- Knowledge of Construction Management software is preferred, also must be proficient with computer programs such as scheduling (P6 preferred), estimating, Excel, MS Word, etc.
Physical Abilities:
- Must be able to walk active construction sites
- Must be able to climb stairs and ladders
- Vision and hearing must be adequate to read documents, reply to questions and take written notes
Other Requirements
- Current driver’s license and an acceptable driving record as defined by Lydig’s insurance company and vehicle policy, if applicable for auto allowance
- Must be able to pass pre-employment checks including a Drug Screen, Criminal Background and possibly Credit check
- Lydig is a drug free workplace, and all employees are considered to be in “safety sensitive” positions. All employees will be tested for controlled substances, including cannabis.
The salary range for this position is between $60,000 and $70,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
