Job Title: Quality System Engineer
Reports to: Quality Manager

Location: Nampa, ID
Job Summary:
The Quality Systems Engineer is responsible for leading the Nampa plant’s SQF, Kosher, Organic, HACCP, and regulatory programs. In addition, this position oversees the quality documentation program led by the Quality Document Specialist (EDM, consumer complaints, SOPs, etc.).
Job Responsibilities & Tasks:

Leads all Food Quality, Food Safety, and Trademark compliance programs:
-
Defining, implementing, and sustaining HACCP/Food Safety & Quality Plan
-
HACCP Team Leader
-
Defining, implementing, and sustaining the Food Defense/Intentional Adulterations Plan
-
Provide leadership in meeting all 3rd party audit (SQF, Organic, and Kosher) requirements
-
Develop, implement, and sustain quality systems to meet SQF guidelines
-
SQF Practitioner for the site
-
Conduct an annual SQF internal audit to ensure compliance
-
Responsible for overseeing pest control program
-
Oversees and supervises the Document Control Specialist
-
Electronic Data Management system
-
SOP management
-
Digital documentation administration
-
Apply quality engineering principles to collect, analyze and interpret data to make quality evaluations through the application of continuous improvement methods
-
Drive the investigation of customer complaints, conduct root cause analysis, and facilitate corrective and preventative actions
-
Manages the small equipment calibration program (pH meters, titrators, brix meters, scales, etc.)
-
All other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:
EDUCATION
-
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related field is required
EXPERIENCE
-
Minimum of 8 years of quality assurance experience in a food manufacturing environment is required
-
SQF training, experience in SQF quality system or other GFSI standard is required
-
HACCP training is required
-
FSMA, Organic, and Kosher certification experience required
-
SQF Practitioner certification required

Works well on cross-functional teams and facilitates open dialogue

Able to create and comfortably deliver training in small and large group settings

PHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able lift up to 40 lbs.

Must be able to work 8-12 hours per day and be on their feet for extended periods of time

Be able to work all shifts (primarily day shift)

Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
