The Referral Coordinator is responsible for coordinating patient referrals by obtaining all information, insurance verification and authorization required for accurate a timely coordination of patient care.
Primary Responsibilities:

Receives, tracks, and obtains insurance authorization from in-network and out-of-network insurance carriers.

Initiates, tracks, and updates status of all referrals for patients in a timely manner

Communicates with all members of the team and specialist regarding the referral process to ensure proper coordination of care

Submits prior authorizations for referrals as needed

Obtains medical records necessary for patient appointment

Contacts patient and referring physician office with referral insurance or benefit conflicts.

Coordinates the referral process with outside organizations and specialist and notifies patient with referral information

Exhibit and manage excellent turn-around time in order to ensure timely referrals.

Demonstrate flexibility to perform duties whenever volume deems it necessary

Document activities appropriately

Comply with all HIPPA regulations

Serves as a back up to the Prior Authorization specialist as needed.

Promote a Culture of Safety; reporting hazards, errors and potential patient safety issues.

Required Qualifications:
