PRIMARY FUNCTION: To assist the Director of Medical Services in the delivery of appropriate medical services, and supports to adult participants, with intellectual developmental disabilities. The Tasks / Nursing responsibilities, may include, but are not limited to:

Completing the following standardized assessments and documenting the outcome of:

* Nursing Assessments

* Self Administration of Medication Assessment (SAMA)

* Physical Status Review (PSR)

Providing required training of Direct Support Personnel (DSPs) utilizing Department of Human Services curriculum and providing written validation of successful completion of OJTs in the following areas:

* Basic Health and Safety

* Medication Administration

WORK SCHEDULE: Primarily Monday thru Friday regular business/program hours, with scheduling flexibility to work variable hours as needed to appropriately carry out duties and responsibilities effectively and appropriate to the changing support needs of the individuals served and their families. Carries Agency pager, and maintains "on call" availability to ensure timely and appropriate response to emergencies/crises of the individuals served.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Registered Professional Nurse required, with at least 2 years of experience in nursing in a hospital / health care facility / Institutional setting, etc. is required.

Experience with or knowledge of developmental disabilities and related physical disabilities is preferred.

EDUCATION:

Licensed Registered Professional Nurse required.

DHS Certification to teach Medication Administration, with additional specialized course work related to developmental and physical disabilities preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

Two years experience as a Certified Nurse Trainer preferred.

Experience with or knowledge of developmental disabilities and related physical disabilities is preferred. Teaching experience is also preferred.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

Registered Professional Nurse License

Valid Drivers License.

Certificate of Proof of Insurance and maintenance of such at minimum amount of

coverage required by law.

Current CPR certification

Current CPI certification

DHS Certification as an approved R.N. Trainer
