JOB SUMMARY
This position has overall responsibility for the Georgia Power Repair Shop Quality Assurance program activities. The position will be filled as a level 5 or 6 Exempt depending on qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. The incumbent will be responsible for the following activities: supplier audits and surveys, internal audits and surveillances, corrective actions, training, records and document management, preparation of certificates of conformance for nuclear safety related motor repair packages, and coordinating regulatory inspections and customer audits.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirements:
- Auditor qualification is essential and the successful candidate must be able to obtain “Lead Auditor” status per ANSI N45.2.23.
- Quality Assurance training is highly preferred.
- Engineering or Engineering Technology degree highly preferred.
- Advanced engineering degree or PE a plus.
- ASQ (American Society for Quality) certification desirable.
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
- Experience performing internal audits and / or supplier audits / surveys is required.
- Nuclear power plant experience or nuclear safety related supplier experience is highly desirable.
- “Lead Auditor” status is highly desirable.
- Quality Assurance experience is highly desirable.
- Experience in technical roles (e.g. engineering, quality control, etc.) is highly desirable.
- Experience with developing and delivering training preferred.
- Development and maintenance of area procedures.
- Effective verbal and writing skills.
- Strong team player that builds credibility and trust quickly.
- Ability to work with people to achieve organizational objectives.
- Must be able to support 24/7 operation including holidays, nights, and weekends when necessary.
- Proficient in relevant computer applications / Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.).
- Ability to make decisions and demonstrate short/long-term strategic vision of the Repair Shop.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Internal Audits
- Schedules & conducts audits and surveillances of QA program activities
- Performs follow-up reviews of findings
- Maintains lead auditor qualifications
Supplier Qualification and Maintenance
- Coordinates and conducts audits and surveys of suppliers
- Maintains suppliers list through audits, surveys, and annual reviews
Corrective Action Program
- Performs reviews, Audit Findings, Surveillance Findings, etc.
- Reviews corrective actions to ensure planned actions are appropriately performed
Training
- Plans and conducts annual training and employee testing as required
- Maintains training program elements and Qualified Personnel List
QA Records
- Ensures electronic records are loaded and controlled
- Maintains records filing system for QA records
Document Management
- Coordinates maintenance and issuance of controlled procedures
- Reviews new and revised procedures
- Maintains controlled procedures
Repair Documentation
- Performs review of job packages and prepares certificates of conformance
- Preparation and storage of completed work packages electronically
Other
- Coordinates and conducts internal audits and surveys not related to nuclear safety related requirements
- Develops and maintain QA program for Power Delivery Maintenance
- Support new technology tools to enhance the business
- Available to work "on-call" rotation as needed.
