Job Purpose

Advance the delivery of the Electric Data Strategy by supporting the development and management of electric datasets and curated Data Products within the Electric Data Management Platform (EDM). The successful candidate will translate complex business needs into robust data solutions by collaborating with data engineers, product managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve data availability and quality, enable insightful analytics, and support data-driven decision making across the electric domain.

Key Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across National Grid domains to define data solutions that support strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and architects to ensure scalable, reliable data architecture.
  • Define data requirements, acceptance criteria, and user stories for Electric datasets and Data Products, and work with product teams to prioritize and deliver value.
  • Design, develop, and maintain data models and Data Products within the EDM platform.
  • Analyze large, complex datasets and processes to identify trends, performance metrics, and opportunities for optimization and translate findings into actionable business insights.
  • Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using standard business intelligence tools to communicate data-driven insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Execute activities in line with the Data Governance Framework to ensure accountability and maintain comprehensive metadata for Electric data sources and products, partnering with data stewards, and other business and IT stakeholders.
  • Ensure high-quality data by working with stakeholders to define ownership, business rules, metrics, and remediation processes for relevant datasets and Data Products.
  • Create comprehensive documentation, including administrative artifacts such as solution decisions and user-facing references such as job aids and training material.
  • Act as a mentor for junior analysts, leading through data projects and providing constructive feedback.
  • Support the Electric Data and Systems and Digital Solutions teams as needed, for both run-the-business activities and strategic initiatives.
  • Proven experience working with diverse teams and individuals.
  • Demonstrated customer service as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a proven ability to effectively communicate with peers and both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in data analysis or data science roles.
  • Proficiency in SQL and additional programming languages commonly used for data analysis (e.g. Python or R).
  • Experience designing and implementing data models and working with relational databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to build clear, actionable data visualizations and dashboards for diverse audiences.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality practices, and metadata management.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • This position includes a Storm Role assignment. Candidates must be able to respond to storm emergencies as required.
  • Ability to travel throughout the National Grid service territory as needed (less than 20%).
  • Must have a valid driver's license and safe driving history.

Salary: $96,000.00 - $112,000.00 USD annually
