Senior Electrical Engineer -APAC Product Applications

Summary of Position
This role is for an individual contributor and will focus on technical leadership of Applications Engineering design and product development lifecycle for our APAC product roadmap. The successful candidate will have experience in mixed signal embedded design, preferably in consumer products or similar. The role would need to collaborate with cross-functional teams to define the product electrical and firmware architecture, work with contract manufacturers and global electrical engineering team. Role requires familiarity with all product development aspects such as team task tracking, BOM cost tracking, DFMEA, documentation and PLM systems.
Role Functions:
- Oversee the design and development of consumer products from initial concept to production. Own electronics application design for APAC products.
- Day-to-day coordination of team tasks to enable the delivery and testing of functional prototypes.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Product Marketing teams to provide initial cost estimates for EBOM and work effort to support advanced development and prototype needs, as well as final product implementation to meet product requirements
- Review applicable base designs and define requirements for APAC variant electronics based on product and regional compliance requirements.
- Work with compliance team and ensure that the product meets global certification standards for consumer electronics
- Support change management process and engineering documentation creation for APAC products.
- Interact with team members from other disciplines to complete project deliverables, solve problems
- Work with global EE leadership to report the project status, review, meet and update the organizational objectives
- Be able to lead and mentor junior engineers and technologists.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a technical leadership role involving the design, development and delivery mixed signal electronics for high volume applications.
- Experience in multiple aspects of electrical design: component selection, system architecture, design verification and DFM.
- Experience of delivering products while meeting Design for Manufacturability, testability and reliability guidelines.
- Experience working with Contract Manufacturing (CM) Design Manufacturing (DM) or (ODM)
- Experience of resolving compliance testing and EMI/EMC issue through methodical RCA.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
- A broad view and understanding of the product development process, and effective experience supporting multi-disciplined team efforts in the evolution of products from concept through testing, verification and approval
- Solid analytical skills with a strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) along with good sound interpersonal skills
