Job Summary:
As a Senior IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of business systems in support of our banking technology programs. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Project Manager specializing in IBM mainframe technologies to lead our critical projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing complex mainframe initiatives, a deep understanding of project management methodologies, and the ability to drive teams towards achieving strategic goals. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, technical acumen, and a collaborative approach to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee multiple IBM mainframe projects from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, budget, timeline, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across departments, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project deliverables and timelines.
- Monitor project performance, identifying and addressing issues proactively to keep projects on track.
- Facilitate cross-functional team meetings, providing direction and motivation to team members.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors to ensure project success and satisfaction.
- Implement best practices in project management, continuously improving processes and methodologies.
- Conduct post-project reviews to assess outcomes, identify lessons learned, and recommend improvements for future projects.
- Mentor junior project managers and team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 7+ years of project management experience, with a minimum of 5 years focused on IBM mainframe projects.
- Strong knowledge of mainframe technologies, including z/OS, DB2, CICS, Data Warehouse and relevant development tools.
- Proven experience with project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches.
- PMP or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a track record of successful stakeholder management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex project environments.
- Proficient in project management software and tools.
