As a senior-level contributor, you will oversee the analysis work on a large-scale effort and have the responsibility of collaborating and supporting complex systems that span across multiple divisions and agency partners. A day in the life:

  • Work together with internal teams on software development that can improve a business process.

  • Oversee system architecture, analysis and design and occasionally perform system coding.

  • Manage the design and development of systems, including creating program narratives, charts, diagrams, record layouts, reports, screens and files.

  • Troubleshoot reported system issues, identify root causes and propose solutions.

  • Develop and recommend cost and time estimates and performance factors for accomplishing the alternatives.

  • Create and deliver detailed database tables, plans and designs to internal partners for review.

  • Coordinate and connect with contractors, other agencies, sections and ODOT partners in workflow evaluation and implementation.

  • Ensure that the project team assesses the impacts of security configurations and compatibility concerns.

  • Hybrid work options available. Work in an office environment 2-3 times a month, but that may increase based on business needs. Some overnight travel may be required primarily within Oregon.

Minimum qualifications:

Six (6) years of information systems experience as an analyst specifically in software or system analysis.

OR

An associate's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field AND four (4) years of information systems experience as an analyst specifically in software or system analysis

OR

A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field AND two (2) years of information systems as an analyst specifically in software or system analysis

OR

Master's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field may substitute for all of the above.

  • Demonstrated experience as an IT business analyst or systems analyst role.

  • Demonstrated experience in creating system and project documentation, business requirements, design specifications, testing and implementation documents, and other related IS files.

  • Demonstrated experience providing consulting assistance to system users using problem-solving skills.

  • A working knowledge of web-based and client server technologies development and procurement lifecycle.

  • Demonstrated skills in efficiently troubleshooting reported system issues, identifying the root cause and providing a solution.

  • Demonstrated experience developing, supporting and overseeing an analyst team during a project or within an organization.
