Job Summary
The Finance-Sponsored Programs office is looking for a Research Administration Supervisor to manage a team in the Reporting area. You will report to the Assistant Director and will manage staff and business processes that serve Sponsored Programs, other UM customers, and external sponsoring entities. The supervisor should provide visible leadership to their staff in a manner that ensures quality customer service.
The supervisor establishes the goals to be achieved by the team and managing the team's daily operational performance. In partnership with Sponsored Programs senior leadership, you will provide direction to the staff and uphold a culture that encourages continuous improvement and University compliance. The supervisor will develop the staff to assure a team-based and collaborative environment.
Starting Salary: $85,000

Responsibilities*
- Manage and train 3-5 reporting accountants.
- Review financial status report(s) to ensure compliance with university and sponsor requirements and restrictions.
- Ensure projects are closed monthly to expedite inactivation by the specified internal due date.
- Build a positive relationship with customers and articulate best practices to improve the reporting and closeout process.
- Implement continuous improvement projects, system enhancements, policy changes, and other special projects on an ad hoc basis.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with 8 accounting courses.
- 3-5 years of experience in sponsored research accounting or Sponsored Programs experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products, Google suites, Business Objects, eResearch Proposal Management (eRPM) and M-Pathways/PeopleSoft systems and communication applications such as Zoom.
- Manage a portfolio of projects with varying needs
Desired Qualifications*
- 1-3 years of supervisory experience or demonstrated high level performance as a team leader
Work Schedule
This is a full-time 40 hour work week position, Monday through Friday.
