As a Cybersecurity Awareness Undergraduate Intern, you will have the opportunity to apply concepts from marketing and psychology to protect the data of our customers and employees. You will learn what behaviors contribute to security and how to drive measurable changes to targeted behaviors. You will be a key team member in developing the activities and events for Cybersecurity Awareness Month. This is an opportunity to develop and showcase your marketing skills to measurably improve the behaviors that protect the data of our 3 million customers and employees.

Premera’s Summer Internship Program is June 16th – August 15th, 2025. To be eligible for the program, you must currently be enrolled in either an undergraduate or graduate degree program or have recently obtained your degree (within the last 12 months). This is a hybrid internship program on our campus in Mountlake Terrace, WA.

Internship Projects and Goals:

  • Work with planning team to define and develop project plan for Cybersecurity Awareness Month (October) activities and events

  • Create detailed plan for promotion, engagement and implementation of compelling activities

  • Engage with Corporate Communications to develop promotional campaigns and prizes

  • Engage with Corporate Events to develop on-site kickoff event and additional virtual events

  • Develop a community of cyberheroes and fans to increase breadth and depth of awareness programming

  • Create and conduct a survey to identify opportunities for regular awareness training or content

  • Create presentations and meet with teams throughout the company to promote regular awareness training or content

  • Develop online Teams community channel plan for ongoing engagement and growth

  • Engage with team managers to recruit team members to join the awareness community

  • Learn key behavioral metrics that measurably impact security and expand tailored training program to high-risk groups

  • Contribute to the rebranding and refresh of Cybersecurity Awareness digital presence and assets

What You Will Bring:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or master's degree program, or have recently obtained your degree (within the last 12 months) (Required)

  • A can-learn, can-do attitude, that works well in a collaborative and fast paced team.

  • Curiosity when it comes to understanding situations, problem solving, and solutioning.

  • Self-starter and ability to do independent work as well as collaborate well with others in a virtual environment.

    The pay for this role will vary based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographic location, market conditions, and specific skills and experience.

    The salary range for this role is posted below; we generally target up to and around the midpoint of the range.

    National Salary Range:

    National Plus Salary Range:

    $43,200.00 - $90,000.00

    *National Plus salary range is used in higher cost of labor markets including Western Washington and Alaska.
