Job Summary

The Supervisor of Contracts and Compliance will oversee vendor contracts and internal projects. Will assist with the development of contracts and projects, monitor existing contracts and projects for compliance. Will conduct audits of work being performed for compliance and quality.

Duties & Responsibilities

*    Meet with cleaning vendors to discuss expectations and address any issues of concern to the Authority .
*    Coordinating cleaning activity withing line operations with Bus, Subway and Commuter Rail officials.
*    Ensure safe work practices are being followed.
*    Assist in the implementation and administration of uniform work standards designed to improve productivity and performance against standards.
*    Track labor budgets for both operating and capital projects.
*    Conduct audits of the contracts and projects, verifying quality of workmanship and implementing corrective action when necessary.
*    Ensure budgetary goals are met and that all work is performed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
*    Drive a company or personal vehicle to visit work sites and/or transport crews or equipment as needed.
*    Respond to each inquiry, whether from a customer, vendor, or co-worker in a professional and courteous manner.
*    Work any and all shifts and/or locations as assigned or directed.
*    Uphold the rights and interests of the Authority while building and maintaining an effective relationship with employees and contractors.
*    Assist in the management of a workforce by ensuring the fair and consistent application and strict adherence to the rules, regulations, collective bargaining agreements (if applicable) and policies of the
Authority including the EEO, Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment and Anti-Retaliation policies.
*    Assist in the oversight of contracts and programs.
*    Perform all other duties and projects that may be assigned.
Additional responsibilities may include a focus on one or more departments or locations. See applicable addendum for department or location-specific functions.

twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week as directed by supervisory staff for severe weather conditions, emergencies or any other circumstances that may potentially impact service or the safety of service.
*    Have the ability to work any and all shifts and/or locations assigned or directed.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

*    Five (5) years of experience in management and contract oversight.
*    One (1) year supervisory/lead experience.
*    Effective organizational and analytical skills.
*    Ability to use Word, Excel, or Database applications.
*    Possess excellent customer service skills.
*    Ability to provide internal and external customers with a courteous and professional experience.
*    Ability to supervise and work effectively with a diverse workforce.
*    Possess a valid driver's license.

Minimum Education
 
*    High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) with the ability to comprehend, communicate, and respond to instructions, order, signs, notices, inquiries, etc.

Preferred Experience and Skills
 
*    A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Business, facility management, or another related field
*    Additional experience in a supervisory capacity

  • Ability to commute to assigned work locations in the Boston, MA metro area, as required by the role.

  • Ability to uphold the rights and interests of the MBTA while building and maintaining effective relationships with employees and co-workers.

  • Have a satisfactory work record for the two (2) years immediately prior to the closing date of this posting (unless if current student or recent graduate), including overall employment, job performance, discipline, and safety records (infractions and/or offenses occurring after the closing of the posting and before the filling of a vacancy may preclude a candidate from consideration for selection).
  • Ability to pass a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check, comprehensive background screening, and / or medical Clinic screening, potentially including a physical examination and drug and alcohol screenings.
  • Ability to work all shifts and / or locations assigned, directed, or necessary for this position, including (for some transit / operations roles) up to twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week as necessary to accommodate severe weather conditions, emergencies, or any other circumstances that may potentially impact service or the safety of service.
  • Intern / co-op staff must be enrolled full or part-time in an accredited educational program and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 for the entire duration of the internship / co-op.
