Summary
This position serves as a Supervisory Nurse located in Outpatient, Division of Nursing Services, Four Corners Regional Health Center, in Red Mesa, AZ. Incumbent is responsible for a full range of administrative, educational and clinical duties. Incumbent may occasionally assist with the operation of the Urgent Care Clinic.

- Knowledge of organizational management of an outpatient care setting, staffing requirements, ensures nursing practice is by standards of care, ensures delivery of quality care, implements nursing services that are evidence-based, and keeps abreast of changing developments, health care policies, and healthcare needs of the population. Identifies competencies, developmental, and training needs of the staff.
- Implement significant provisions of personnel management to include: personnel management procedures, training and career development plans, safety practices, environment of care, provisions of accreditation guidelines, updates policies and procedures, and enforce mission and vision of IHS goals, mission, and strategic plans.
- Provides skilled and comprehensive nursing care to patients who present to outpatient care, exercises sound judgment in interpreting assessments to the medical provider, and applies knowledge and skills when patients need ambulatory care. Performs a wide range of nursing care for patients in all age groups and their families who present with an unlimited range of health-related problems.
- Responsible for providing direction, leadership, guidance, professionalism, supervision, and evaluation to the nursing staff. Responsible for planning work for completion of work schedules, adjusting work schedule as needed to meet the staffing and patient care needs. Provides adequate nursing coverage for safe and effective patient care.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Education
A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on or an accrediting body recognized by the at the time the degree was obtained.
Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.
Licensure
For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the . In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Basic Requirements for the GS-12 (or equivalent) Grade Level
In addition to the mandatory license and education described above under Basic Requirements applicants must have at least one or more full years of professional nursing experience that is equivalent to the next lower grade level.
Experience
The work experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. At the GS-11 and above grade level, many positions may require experience in a specialty area of nursing. Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples Include: Comprehensive professional nursing care in preventive and therapeutic services to all age groups that includes assessment, diagnosis and treatment of various illnesses, formulate and implement treatment plans, order and interpret diagnostic tests, educate and counsel patients, collaborate with physicians concerning patient care and management, and perform the full range of administrative and managerial duties supervising, managing and directing the nursing care and nursing services.
Provide leadership, direction, and technical expertise in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the delivery of nursing services for the benefit and provision of safe comprehensive care. Demonstrated management, administrative and supervisory skills necessary to effectively manage nursing services and prioritize these services according to patient needs and outcomes.
