Our client is seeking a dedicated and proficient Tableau Administrator to manage and maintain their on-premise Tableau Server infrastructure. This role is within a leading financial services organization, and the ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of Tableau Server architecture, security, and performance optimization.
Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and manage Tableau Server on-premise infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
Monitor the health, performance, and usage of Tableau Server, proactively addressing issues such as performance bottlenecks and resource limitations.
Implement and maintain user security policies, roles, and permissions in line with data governance standards.
Collaborate with development teams to optimize Tableau reports, dashboards, and data sources.
Design and implement robust backup and recovery strategies for Tableau environments.
Perform upgrades and patches to keep Tableau Server up-to-date with the latest security updates and features.
Automate administrative tasks where possible, such as user provisioning, report deployment, and environment monitoring.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Tableau Server, including connectivity, data source refreshes, and server performance.
Document best practices, processes, and configurations related to Tableau administration.
Work closely with cross-functional teams including business intelligence, IT infrastructure, and security teams to align Tableau solutions with organizational goals and security policies.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Tableau Administrator managing on-premise environments, preferably within the financial services sector.
Strong knowledge of Tableau Server installation, configuration, and administration, with an understanding of server architecture and networking.
Experience in performance tuning and optimization for large-scale Tableau environments.
Familiarity with scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for Tableau Server administration.
Experience with Windows and/or Linux server environments and infrastructure management.
Knowledge of data security and governance principles, especially as they relate to sensitive financial data.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced financial services environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the financial services industry, understanding the compliance and regulatory requirements.
Tableau Server Certified Associate or Tableau Server Certified Professional.
