Who will you be working with?

Our Wabtec Young Touchstone team combines knowledge of our customers’ product platforms/processes with industry expertise to deliver unparalleled product solutions. Here you’ll interact daily with all support team functions to solve problems and will partner with other key stakeholders to support our customers and their operations.

How will you make a difference?

As the Technical Service Manager for Wabtec Young Touchstone, you will be responsible for directing and coordinating activities concerned with providing customer technical service. This position will report directly to the business unit Quality Manager and when not in the field, will sit at the Lexington, Tn location.

What do we want to know about you?

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Four-year college degree or university program certificate with at least 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Or +15 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of Database software; Manufacturing software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Be the point of contact for all customer complaints and rejections for our products.
  • Coordinate technical liaison services between Young Touchstone and customers.
  • Direct investigation of customer complaints regarding quality, tolerances, specifications, and delivered condition of product.
  • Record, analyze, and inform Management of status and disposition of customer complaints and claims.
  • Administer warranty on Young Touchstone products.
  • Issue Return Material Authorizations for rejections and repairs.
  • Coordinate financial transactions on returns with accounting and customer service.
  • Track and expedite turnaround on customer returns.
  • Coordinate warranty field repairs and replacement parts shipments.
  • Quote prices for repair parts and services.
  • Coordinate returns for failure analysis and assists with failure reports.
  • Select/Supervise/Coordinate all non-Young Touchstone field service repair shops utilized in the repair of Young Touchstone or Bearward products.
  • Enters Corrective Actions in Reliance quality system.
  • Lead and manage the companies Corrective Action Processes to achieve CAR completion at both Plants as well as the internal processes of the offices.
  • Prepare Engineering Requests to resolve Corrective Actions and to make product improvements.
  • Prepare and submits customer 8D and SCAR responses.
  • Negotiate settlement of claims, for which company is responsible, within limits prescribed by management.
  • Select, plan, and direct activities of Field Service Technicians.
  • Coordinate field repairs on Bearward Engineering radiators in North America and Canada
  • Prepare rework procedures to assist with field repairs.
  • Travel to perform inspection and repair service at customer sites, both domestically and internationally
  • While performing the duties of this Job associated with field/warranty work, the employee is occasionally required to be able to maneuver his/her body over or around our product in a field setting, including climbing or traversing the product installed in a vehicle.
