Full Job Description

Join us as a Vice President of Core Business Services. At Barclays, our vision is clear –to redefine the future of banking and help craft innovative solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for executing the strategic delivery roadmap and leading process re-engineering initiatives to align with Global Markets Operations objectives. You will also calculate and validate baseline data to set Year-End targets for key goals, including Capacity Creation, Control, and Performance. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of risk management, reconciliation design, and process optimization. A focus on continuous improvement, data validation, and efficient control management is essential for success in this role. Additionally, strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels are crucial.

To be successful as a Vice President of Core Business Services, you should have experience with:

• Strong technical background in Rates, Macro, or FX Derivatives

• Solid risk and control mindset with understanding of control/reconciliation design

• Attention to detail with a proactive check and challenge approach

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders

• Strong communication skills, especially with senior audiences in control forums

• Experience in automation, change management, and process optimization

This role is located in Whippany, NJ

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any another type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To support business areas with day-to-day processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution.

Accountabilities

  • Support various business areas with day-to-day initiatives including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading, and issue resolution.
  • Collaboration with teams across the bank to align and integrate operational processes.
  • Identification of areas for improvement and providing recommendations in operational processes.
  • Development and implementation of operational procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Development of reports and presentations on operational performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.
  • Identification of industry trends and developments to implement best practice in banking operations.
  • Participation in projects and initiatives to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.

They will train, guide and coach less experienced specialists and provide information affecting long term profits, organisational risks and strategic decisions..
  • Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management on functional and cross functional areas of impact and alignment.
  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the organisation functions to contribute to achieving the goals of the business.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategies.
  • Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives. In-depth analysis with interpretative thinking will be required to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Adopt and include the outcomes of extensive research in problem solving processes.
  • Seek out, build and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in order to accomplish key business objectives, using influencing and negotiating skills to achieve outcomes.
