The role:

Join our team as a voter registration integrity analyst where you will direct efforts to review and improve all aspects of the DMV’s role in the Oregon Motor Voter (OMV) program. You will work across all levels of the department and with the Secretary of State Elections Division to take action to ensure the integrity of OMV. You will review all elements of the program from policies, rules and legislation to staff training and data quality processes as well as seek information from other states and interested parties on best practices for automatic voter registration. This is a limited duration appointment that is expected to end on or before December 31, 2026. Limited duration appointments are benefits eligible and have a designated maximum length of service. This position has the potential to become permanent.

We may also fill this position as a rotational assignment open to current State of Oregon employees in good standing (limited duration and temporary employees not eligible). Rotation candidates are not required to meet the position’s minimum qualifications. Rotational assignments do not have the potential to become permanent without a separate competitive recruitment process. This opportunity is expected to end on or before December 31, 2026, but the duration can change at any time depending on business needs. A day in the life:

  • Participate in the DMV’s Data Integrity Review team.

  • Serve as a lead ODOT resource for the audit directed by the Department of Administrative Services (DAS).

  • Implement findings from the conducted review and audit.

  • Provide regular reports to the director and the assistant director for revenue, finance and compliance, and the DMV administrator on efforts to ensure the integrity of the OMV program.

  • Serve as the department’s liaison with the Oregon Secretary of State on all issues related to voter registration.

  • Develop and implement community engagement plans.

  • Review legislation related to OMV.

  • Collaborate and gather information from other states and interested parties on best practices for automatic voter registration and work to implement them in Oregon.

  • Examine policies, processes and quality measures to seek opportunities for continuous improvement in OMV.

  • Review OMV training plans for DMV staff to identify gaps and work with DMV to develop and implement training.

  • Work in a standard office environment with hybrid work options available. Travel to other locations in Oregon or national events may be necessary.

Minimum qualifications:

Any combination of experience and education equivalent to eight years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skills for the classification;

OR

A bachelor's degree in business or public administration, behavioral or social sciences, finance, political science or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and five years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work.
