The VP of Risk Management role resides in 2nd line of defense and will be responsible for portfolio analytics and oversight to enhance the risk policy and strategy and drive resilient growth of USCB portfolio. This position plays key role within Chief Risk Office as it is responsible for managing risk, risk/reward tradeoff and customers risk assessment throughout the life cycle.
To be successful as a Barclays Risk Management VP you should have experience with:
- Independently monitor credit performance to identify existing and future credit risks
- Identifying key areas of opportunities and working with 1st line of defense to address it
- Analyzing and measuring exposure to credit risk, including performing end-to-end statistical and analytical evaluations to optimize portfolio performance
- Support launch and conversion of new partnership credit card portfolios
- Check and Challenge strategy proposals formulated by 1LOD to ensure they are sound and meet the hurdles
- Evaluating data using statistical analysis techniques such as decision trees, optimization procedures, loss forecasting, enhanced process monitoring, and data quality analyses

Purpose of the role
To manage and optimise the bank's overall credit risk exposure by monitoring, analysing, and reporting on the creditworthiness of its lending portfolio.
Accountabilities
- Monitoring the financial performance and risk profile of the entire lending portfolio, including individual borrowers, sectors, and geographic regions.
- Analysis of credit trends, identify early warning signs of potential borrowers' issues, and assess the impact of economic and market developments on the portfolio.
- Development and utilisation of quantitative models and risk forecasting tools to measure and predict potential credit losses.
- Performance of portfolio stress testing exercises to assess the impact of various economic and market scenarios on the portfolio's risk profile.
- Definition and setting of portfolio, segment and customer risk appetite, policy and limits. Overseeing first line execution within these parameters.
