Ensure effective management of all onboarding, support, service and operational accountabilities of the Ameriprise Financial Institution Group (AFIG). Responsible for: development and alignment of key corporate relationships, including service & operations and conversion; leading the onboarding, service, support and risk management teams ensuring effective performance; delivering an exceptional support/service experience to financial institution clients; providing direct and influential leadership of financial institution key service/operation leaders and sales assistants; and the coordination/integration of corporate and field stakeholders to achieve key priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • AFIG senior leader responsible for the field service, support, onboarding and management teams. Accountable for operational commitment and consistent staff execution of priorities and AFIG service, support and measures. Build culture of success and improve the financial institution value proposition from an operational, onboarding and support perspective.

  • Create and maintain a collaborative work environment through regular 1:1s, establishment of development plans and timely performance management. Ensure alignment of support/onboarding resources and issue resolution.

  • Act as AFIG's senior leader and liaison in working across business lines with corporate conversion, service & operations and support teams to drive effective collaboration and results.

  • Lead large deal financial institution takeovers from an AFIG work-stream perspective. Develop and maintain strategies, processes and programs to support onboards, operational efficiencies and key initiative integration with financial institutions and their support leaders and staff.

  • Promote and enforce appropriate standards, including compliance and legal responsibilities, with new and existing financial institutions. Provide thought leadership and initiate/influence activities to maximize organizational effectiveness.

  • Design, implement and monitor operational processes to increase AFIG program and advisor revenue and operational efficiencies.

  • Evaluate and monitor national region operational staff structure to ensure alignment with revenue drivers and have successful impact on overall key performance metrics (KPM). Ensure dual region teams influence, support, advocate and collaborate with dual program operational leaders to teach and help drive operation efficiencies that support KPMs, digital engagement, etc. Ensure operational, risk and HR standards within the AFIG support.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent.

  • 10+ years relevant experience required.

  • Ability to manage operations across a multiple state territory, requiring 35-50% travel.

  • Strong understanding of broker-dealer business operations; possesses technical expertise in one or more of the following areas: advisor recruitment, risk mitigation, financial planning, client acquisition, marketing, practice management activities, or business operations.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills - including networking, negotiating, conflict resolution.

  • Demonstrated success in leading and influencing others without direct positional power.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Commitment to diversity and sensitivity to differences among people.

  • Ability to manage change and lead through making decisions, influencing others and taking risks/innovation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience leading through others (direct and influential leadership) and developing others

  • Operational and sales support leadership and knowledge within a financial institution investment program

  • Current or previous Ameriprise Financial experience

  • Series 7

  • State securities agent registration (S63 or S66)

  • State IAR registration (S65 or S66)
