Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Manager
Job Description BAE Systems is hiring a Manager I of Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE). The role reports to the BAE Systems Intelligence and Security (I&S) SHE Director and is a member of the I&S SHE leadership team. The I&S SHE Manager will have one direct report and provide leadership across the I&S business for multiple programs: SHE Operations Manager for Intelligence Solutions Business Area; Program Manager for SHE Management Systems (ISO 14001 and 45001 aligned); Business Continuity Management; Chemical Management including SDS Management and Chemical approval processes; SHE Auditor; Root Cause/Corrective Action analysis and review. The position is hybrid with the addition of 25% travel.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage these programs to drive continuous improvements in SHE compliance and performance across the business in line with BAE's commitment to corporate responsibility.
Provide hands-on site support to both SHE and site personnel to execute all programs within his/her responsibility.
Manage and consult on SHE processes to insure proper execution of practices in accordance with applicable internal and external requirements.
Participate in SHE Assurance and Management Systems Audits as a lead auditor, audit team member, or as a developer of audit protocols.
Monitor developing SHE federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and risk reduction initiatives and analyze potential impacts to business system operations.
Coordinate, develop, and engage SHE and operational personnel.
Participate in the identification, development, and implementation of SHE goals and strategic planning.
Hybrid reporting locations include Southern Maryland (California/Lexington Park); Chesapeake VA; Fort Walton Beach FL; Mojave CA; Rockville MD; Fort Worth TX; McLean VA; Hill Air Force Base Salt Lake City UTRequired Education, Experience, & Skills
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $103590 - $176130
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

- Bachelors degree in SH&E, engineering, or other natural science/technical discipline and eight years of experience or equivalent experience
- Experience in Safety, Health, and Environmental Management; particularly: Chemical Management; Business Continuity Management including emergency action planning; SHE Management Systems; Root Cause/Corrective Action
- Experience in operations/program management
- Experience in people management/leadership
- Experience in ISO Management Systems (14001, 45001)
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and personnel
- Ability to support process improvement and change management
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist designation
- Experience in a geographically-dispersed, multi-site environment
