Job Summary:
This position is responsible for monthly performance reporting to ensure that reports are reasonable and accurate. The analyst will also be expected to provide monthly performance reports to internal groups within the organization. The role requires a blend of analytical skills as well as initiative and the ability to stay ahead of, or anticipate, business needs in a fast-paced environment. The individual will interface with marketing, sales, supply management, risk and forecasting groups. Candidate must be capable of working independently, cross-functionally and display strong interpersonal communication skills.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform analytical review of actual business results versus budget, forecast, and prior year at varying levels of the organization and across different information systems for functions and business segments.
- Develop reports using object-oriented programming like SQL, VBA, etc.
- Provide monthly performance reporting to management.
- Support monthly forecast updates and ad-hoc analytical assessments.
- Monitor data accuracy and continue to improve forecast/financial models and processes.
- Provide analytical support and 'ad hoc' analysis to allow the management team to make informed business decisions.
- Verify, process, and report on sales performance compensation plan.
- Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
- Houston office-based hybrid role
- Open office environment
- Overtime as business needs dictate
- Minimal travel expected, and not likely to exceed more than 10%
Minimum Requirements:
- 0-2 years of work experience in an analyst role, including financial reporting and analysis.
- A BS/BA from an accredited four-year college or university is required; preferably in Business, Accounting or Finance.
- Advanced proficiency with MS Excel, working with large data sets and complex calculations.
- SQL or other object-oriented programming skills are a plus.
- Strong Analytical/quantitative skills to conduct financial and economic analysis.
- Experience with Power BI or other similar data visualization tools is a plus.
