Responsibilities
Rebecca Hendry & Associates, staff counsel for State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company in Fairfax, Virginia, is hiring a rising 3L Summer Law Intern (Class of 2026) who will have exposure to litigation and trial practice. The internship strives to provide a balanced and realistic representation of the function of Claims Litigation Counsel, as well as real-world exposure to a multitude of legal services being provided. The selected individual will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with attorneys on assigned projects, observe every phase of litigation, and will have a designated mentor throughout the internship. The internship has a full-time schedule in the summer beginning Monday, May 19, 2025, through Friday, August 1, 2025, with the potential to transition to a part-time schedule during the 2024/2025 school year. The selected intern will be paid $33/ hour and operate in a hybrid environment (combination of in-office and remote). The Summer Intern selected will also receive a $2000 Intern Stipend. The ideal candidate should possess excellent organization skills, an energetic/positive attitude, legal research knowledge, and the ability to work well under deadlines in a fast-paced working environment.
Located in St. Petersburg, FL, we enjoy an active, busy civil trial practice. We provide a congenial, team-oriented, professional work environment with skilled support staff.
Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled as a 2L student in an ABA law school and must remain enrolled as a student for the duration of the internship.
- 2L students in the top half of their class
- Strong research skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Florida Rules of Civil Procedure

Internship Details:
- Summer Internship Dates: 5/19/2025-8/1/2025
- Hours: Monday-Friday, 38.75 hours per week
- Due to the short duration of the summer program, it is an expectation that hired interns will be available for the duration of the summer internship with little to no disruption in work schedule.
- Pay: $33/hour. In addition, interns selected for our summer internship program will be eligible for a $2,000 stipend!
- Work Arrangement: HYBRID - Selected interns should plan to spend time working from home and some time working in the office as part of our hybrid work environment. Please note that relocation benefits will not apply.
