Responsibilities
Rachel S. Croke & Associates, insurance staff counsel for State Farm Insurance Companies, is seeking a Legal Secretary with civil defense litigation experience to join our Detroit Claim Litigation office in Southfield, MI. Candidates must be detail-oriented, adaptable, resourceful, and have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to supporting multiple attorneys, calendar/scheduling depositions, mediations, and hearings, electronic filing with the courts, processing incoming/outgoing mail, and trial preparation. The position is classified as a hybrid role, meaning that the work arrangement allows for two days per week remote working and three days in-office. Work arrangements could change over time based on business needs. Based in Southfield, MI we enjoy an active and busy insurance defense practice. We provide a congenial, team-oriented, and professional work environment with skilled support staff.

Qualifications
- Civil defense litigation secretarial experience preferably in the area of insurance defense, including No-Fault & Auto Negligence
- Proficiency in software technology including Microsoft Office and Adobe, tools, and case management software
- Experience of E-Filing with court systems
- Familiarity with court rules of procedure
- Knowledge of the Civil Rules for Circuit, District and Federal Courts in Michigan
- Knowledge of legal and medical terminology, local and state rules regarding pleadings and pre-trial matters, deadlines, and filing requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
