Summary:
Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents the following four educational components for Nash Hospitals, Incorporated: 1) The orientation of new personnel. 2) The provision of mandatory education programs. 3) The continued development of personnel. 4) The development of educational programs designed to address problems identified by quality programs, safety committee, management and staff, and the introduction of new equipment and procedures. 5) Assist with ensuring the hospital strategic goals and objectives are met
Responsibilities:
1. Coordinates the development and implementation of a hospital-wide simulation program for all employees, and a mandatory education program for all employees to include, but not limited to: -Mission governance, policies and procedures; -Infection control plan and the individual’ role; -Available employee health services; -Safety management program and the individual’s role; -Emergency procedure and the individual’s role; -Hospital’s QA/QI plan; -Computer training and the individual’s role.
2. Assesses the learning needs of nursing and other patient care staff and plans continuing education offerings accordingly.
3. Plans and communicates educational offerings.
4. Implements educational offerings as planned.
5. Maintains required documentation.
6. Evaluates the effectiveness and appropriateness of all educational activities.
7. Serves as a researcher and consultant with respect to Staff Development.
8. Models professional behavior.
9. Communicates and collaborates with hospital management, staff and significant others with respect to Staff Development.
10. Evaluates publications, periodicals, videotapes and other educational materials.
11. Serves as educational resource to non-nursing departments as assigned.
12. Performs other duties as needed

Other Information:
Education Requirements:
● BSN required or must obtain within 2 years of hire
• Masters of Science in Nursing MSN is preferred
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• BCLS Certification
• BCLS Instructor Certification within 4 months of hire
• ACLS certification. ACLS Instructor certification. Specialty Certification preferred.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● 2 years of experience in healthcare/medical Nurse: Registered Nurse in an acute care setting.
