Job Description
Join the City of Chesapeake Police Department as an Office Systems Specialist II and take the next step in your career supporting critical law enforcement information systems. This is a supervisory position responsible for providing leadership, direction, and oversight to assigned staff while ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and security of essential criminal justice information systems. This position plays a key role within the unit by coordinating daily operations, guiding staff performance, and ensuring compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and certification requirements.Responsibilities include:
- Supervising assigned staff, including training, scheduling, assigning, and evaluating work.
- Maintaining the VCIN/NCIC file system and assisting with cross-checking VCIN entries for accuracy.
- Entering data into the Virginia Criminal Information Network (VCIN).
- Ensuring staff certifications are maintained and re-certifications are scheduled accordingly.
- Training department personnel and outside agencies in VCIN certifications.
- Identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving VCIN issues.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
