Step into an instrumental role. Help conduct the smooth operation of a fast-paced-and friendly-financial planning office. Work as an employee of an independent advisor franchisee with a financial advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial.
Assist the financial advisor(s) in managing and organizing office workflow and daily business operations. This position will consistently follow high standards of business and professional ethics and legal and regulatory requirements when dealing with others and/or performing work activities.
This role will manage the day-to-day activities of staff including, but not limited to, conducting weekly touch points with team members, and delivering annual performance reviews. The role is responsible for taking the lead in managing the financials of the practice and other practice management functions essential to a small business. Responds to ad hoc requests, coordinates/tracks projects and/or manages business-as-usual projects.
Responsibilities and Time Allocation - Will change over time to meet the needs of the practice and can include other duties as assigned by the advisor.
Position Functions:
90% Practice Management
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the practice and team members to ensure efficient business processing in alignment with deadlines
Review, write, and implement processes and procedures
Responsible for assisting with advertising, candidate searching, and onboarding new team members
Responsible for training and mentoring new hires and existing team members
Oversee branch account payable and expense tracking
Manage practice reporting
Works with primary advisor to ensure that branch signage and support team remains compliant
Participate in branch audit, if applicable
Responsible for task assignments, oversight of tasks, and follow up with support team to ensure tasks are being completed thoroughly and in a timely manner
Assign and delegate work and provide feedback when appropriate to other support staff
Update website and execute ongoing advertising and marketing campaigns
Coordinate and oversee office, office building, and property maintenance
Manage phones, computer, and printer networking
Oversee financial plan tracking for plan count, deliveries, and fee collections
Coordinate monthly scheduling with Client Service Associate
10% Client Care
Responsible for ensuring entire team is providing exceptional client service to clients
Oversee and manage team email inbox
Prepare agendas for client appointments
Assist with new client onboarding
Manages client related case escalations
Assist with processing Estate settlements
Back up for new business processing, account maintenance, money movement, wire and account transfer requests
Back up for financial planning data collection, basic data entry, and plan closures

Education and Other Designations:
College degree or higher
5+ years of similar experience
Already have or be able to study for and pass exams for federal and state licenses and registrations for securities, including Series 7, Series 66, and State life, accident and health insurance license (Preferred but not required)
