GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
As the Program Coordinator, Accessibility, you will assist with the implementation of the museum's in-person, virtual and hybrid access programs, initiatives and resources. You will provide support towards the daily implementation of access programing that include and represent the experiences of people with physical, cognitive, sensory and other disabilities. You will collaborate with educators, museum staff and external partners to administer programs, resources and accommodations. You will track feedback, responses and results of programs. You will coordinate the planning, logistics and communications of Access programs and support access initiatives across both Education and the wider museum.
Some early morning, evening and weekend hours required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Provide front-line customer service for people with disabilities, including responding to phone and email inquiries about accessibility throughout the museum as well as programming. Address relevant needs and share inquiries with Access colleagues and other departments as appropriate. Manage related email and phone correspondence to ensure timely and adequate responses.
Provide administrative support for access programing including scheduling cross departmental meetings with both internal and external partners.
Schedule and manage Access programing calendars, arrange programing logistics including securing and managing supplies, booking rooms and ensuring proper AV set-up and support, program registration. This includes scheduled, partnership and by-request programs in the museum galleries and classrooms, offsite, and online.
Assist with execution of programs, including pre-assigning participants to educators, signing in participants, distributing assistive listening devices, and all other program logistics.
Act as a primary point of contact for contract educators/teaching artists and partner organizations for logistical and administrative aspects of programs for people with dementia.
Book and fulfill by-request tours and programs for groups and individuals with disabilities and liaise regularly with the VX groups team to ensure alignment in processes for booking and tracking information in shared systems.
Assist Access educators in the maintenance of existing partnerships and the establishment of new partnerships, including research on organizations, and coordination of program activities.
Organize and prepare internally- and externally facing program communications, including regular entries and updates to the Museum's website calendar and other web content, marketing emails, and print publications. Coordinate this process with Digital and the Education Publications and email marketing teams. Further publicize Access programs, including working with the museum's social media team, posting Access programs to audience-specific online calendars, and researching new marketing outlets.
Maintain and track program statistics and constituent records and create reports in Tessitura and other tracking systems.
Coordinate accommodations for visitors with disabilities participating in Access and other programs, such as assistive listening devices, large print labels, induction loops, Sign Language interpreters, etc.
Monitor and maintain budgets, prepare and process contracts, payments and invoices, and track revenue and expenses. Assist educators with program evaluation.
Coordinate logistics for Disability Awareness Training for various departments and participate in training implementation with other Access staff.
Support the Access educators in preparing Development and other reports and proposals by documenting program activities and providing reports on program numbers and attendance.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in art history, Museum Education, or other related field, or equivalent experience.
3 years of experience within cultural or educational institutions.
Knowledge of art history and museum education, preferred;
Knowledge of accessibility and disability community, preferred
Fluency or competency in a foreign language, desired.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, required.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including great tact in interacting with the public, required;
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, required;
Full command of the Microsoft Office Suite and solid computer skills, required;
Knowledge of systems including Artifax, Tessitura and Workday, preferred;
COMPENSATION RANGE:
Pay Range: $33.00 - $34.00 / Hourly
