The Cryogenic Technician reports to the Director of Fleet and Pipeline and is responsible for maintaining the physical condition, reliability, and safe performance of over-the-road Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) tanker trailers, vaporizer units, and related equipment. This role monitors equipment performance, maintains required records, trains and mentors Cryogenic Technicians, and oversees portable pipeline operations.
Key Accountabilities
Supervise portable pipeline service operations and LNG transportation activities.Ensure the safety, regulatory compliance, and cryogenic integrity of the LNG trailer fleet and associated equipment.Oversee equipment maintenance, testing, inspections, inventory management, and third-party service coordination.Respond to emergency incidents and conduct vehicle audits to support safe and reliable operations.Lead and monitor safety-sensitive work while supervising up to six union mechanics.Foster strong working relationships with internal teams, customers, and external service partners.Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of experience in tank truck inspection and maintenance required.2 or more years of experience within the LNG industry preferred.Current Cargo Tank Test, Inspection, and Repair Facility Interactive Workshop Certification required.Demonstrated supervisory, leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to effectively lead teams toward shared goals and objectives.Strong technical aptitude, including experience with AC/DC electrical systems and proficiency in TIG and MIG welding.Perform physically demanding mechanical work in shop and outdoor field environments across all seasons and weather conditions.Requires prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and crawling during inspections and repairs. Working knowledge of metal fabrication techniques and equipment.Experience using testing tools, gauges, and associated setup and calibration procedures.Thorough understanding of DOT cargo tank regulations and compliance requirements.Valid CDL Class A Commercial Driver's License with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements required.Proficient in Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite applications.Experience utilizing TGMS trucking software preferred.Knowledge of work order management processes and systems.Experience maintaining and processing parts inventory and related data records.Current Flammable Gas Firefighting Certification preferred or required, as applicable.
